1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the app. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Licence to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, scrape, or create derivative works from the app or its content except as expressly permitted by law.

3. Entertainment Only — No Professional Advice

The app provides traditional Chinese astrological calculations (BaZi / Four Pillars of Destiny) for entertainment, educational and cultural-interest purposes only. Its content does not constitute and must not be relied upon as medical, psychological, legal, financial, investment, career or relationship advice. You use the app, and act on its content, entirely at your own risk and responsibility. See our Disclaimer for further detail.

4. Accuracy and Methodology

Charts and readings are generated from traditional rules and astronomical approximations applied to the birth data you supply. We do not warrant that any result is accurate, complete or reliable, and we are not responsible for results affected by incorrect or incomplete data entered by you.

5. Your Account and Data

The app works without an account; your charts are stored on your own device. If you choose to enable optional cloud backup by signing in, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy and Personal Information Collection Statement.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

use the app for any unlawful, infringing or fraudulent purpose;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, our systems, or another user’s data;
interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the app or its infrastructure; or
remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notices, including the names and mascot of Bilibala Shadowpaw Limited.

7. Intellectual Property

The app and all of its content, design, software, text, graphics, and the “ShadowBlack” mascot are owned by or licensed to Bilibala Shadowpaw Limited and are protected by intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved. Third-party brand marks (such as the Threads logo) remain the property of their respective owners.

8. Third-Party Services

The app relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase (for optional sign-in and cloud backup) and the Apple App Store / Google Play (for native distribution). Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, over which we have no control.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or accuracy and reliability of content. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bilibala Shadowpaw Limited and its directors, employees, agents and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the app shall not exceed HK$100, or the amount (if any) you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bilibala Shadowpaw Limited and its personnel from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the app or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may modify or discontinue the app, or any feature, at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will revise the version and date above and, where the changes are material, seek your acceptance again. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the app (or to cloud backup) if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that may cause harm or legal liability. You may stop using the app at any time and delete your local and backed-up data.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app. The English version of these Terms prevails over any translation.
